What was the most memorable moment of your day?

The most memorable moment was exchanging our wedding vows. Our time as a couple and preparation for the wedding culminated in that moment of becoming husband and wife. It was a blessing to be a newly-married couple surrounded by our loved ones in the church where one of us was raised.

Any Advice for Future Bride and Grooms?

Not everything will go according to plan, and that’s okay! Covid restrictions required us to postpone our wedding 3 times. Roll with the moments of discouragement and excitement along the way and lean on your partner for support. Even if it is not what you initially envisioned, your wedding will be perfect.

Tell us about the wedding dress!

A family friend encouraged my mom and me to visit the Reading Bridal District outside Cincinnati. Reading is wedding central, with an extensive collection of bridal shops, each with its own style. After trying on many dresses, one stylist suggested “that dress in the back” that happened to be in the store for a trunk show. It was traditional yet modern and sleek, and the mermaid silhouette and sleeves were unexpected but hard to forget. I knew I found my dress when I saw my mom and the stylist crying happy tears together.

Bonus Favorite Moments!

One great memory was taking our seats after the grand entrance at our reception. We will remember being introduced and dancing our way to our seats to “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, a family favorite. The beautiful Toledo Club room glowed as the sunset’s lighting came through its tall windows. After dinner, we were ready to get the party started. Our wedding gift to each other was dance lessons leading up to our big day. We learned an upbeat choreographed dance and surprised everyone with it, dips and all! Others joined us after, and we spent the rest of the night out on the dance floor with our guests.

Favorite Part about working with our team?

Jess and her team are true professionals. Before the wedding, she met with us several times to get to know us as a couple and what we wanted for our wedding day. She seamlessly coordinated with our other vendors on the day’s timeline. A family member so accurately described Jess and her assistants as graceful and floating at our wedding. While they were attentive and there for every important moment, we did not feel like we were constantly surrounded by cameras or on an agenda. Viridian Ivy excels at capturing timeless, authentic moments. From beginning to end, we couldn’t be happier with our decision to work with Jess and her team!
